very green counter

Parking is very limited in this branch. Fortunately, I had a driver that time so I just told him to wait for me. There were no customer when I entered which I thought was a bad sign.

menu

Cha Dao’s menu is very limited but their milk teas are very cheap. I asked the crew what the place’s milk tea specialty is. They said their best sellers are Assam and Wintermelon. I decided to try large Assam with Egg Pudding and Pearls which only cost me a total of P95, cheaper than other competitors.

While waiting, I took photos of the small store. I found it too “green” and it doesn’t look very comfy to hang out in.

very basic

green everywhere

Since I had really low expectations of Cha Dao, I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted what I ordered. Assam is very milky and suitably sweet but the winner is their egg pudding. I think it’s one of the best tasting out there.

review

Cha Dao is a good and cheaper alternative take out milk tea place. I wouldn’t hang out in the shop because I find their color scheme very suffocating. Another negative is their limited parking space but for pedestrians that won’t be a problem because Cha Dao is very accessible. It’s near the entrance of Kapitolyo and it’s easy to commute to and from the shop. So I recommend this if you are tired of the long line at Chatime Pioneer or if you have a limited budget.

I just found out that they deliver. I don’t know how much the minimum for delivery is though.

Still a continuation of my Davao Food Appreciation Tour (DFAT) experience. I’ve been hearing about Lachi’s from other bloggers for years. They all rave about the sans rival which of course piqued my curiosity. The night of Day 2, we headed to Lachi’s with empty and aching stomachs from the day’s activities. Lachi’s was full [...]

They all rave about the sans rival which of course piqued my curiosity. The night of Day 2, we headed to Lachi’s with empty and aching stomachs from the day’s activities. Lachi’s was full so we had to wait before we got in but once we were seated, we didn’t have to wait long for food to arrive. I was very much ready to try what Lachi’s can dish out.

restaurant review

The staff packed our table with new and old Lachi’s dishes: Unforgettable Grilled Pork Ribs (P132), Chinese Pork Belly in Red Sauce (P152), Tinik-less Daing na Bangus (P70 for half/P120 whole), Home Style Beef Tapa (P100), Breaded Pork Cutlet (P95), Laing, Pork Marinara Pasta (P95), Chili con Carne, The Ultimate Calderata (P190) and much much more. The Davaoenos surely knows good food and they flock to Lachi’s even if it’s out of the way and in a remote place with hardly any public transport. (more…)

They say that with age comes wisdom. Twenty-Three years should make one very wise and this was proven to be true when I dined at Melo’s. The pioneer of certified US Angus beef in the Philippines has perfected the art of preparing, cuts, and cooking steak and they have the laurels to prove it. As said by Paul and Carolina Santiago-Macasaet, the husband and wife team behind Melo’s Alabang who invited me that night, Melo’s strives to provide personalized service to all their clientele. They get to know each guest and find out his dietary habits then come up with meals which suit them.

One of the times I went to Konbini Store, I noticed the Fruiteamix Milk Tea Shop beside it. I decided that I’ll try it after leaving Konbini. After having my fill with Konbini ramen and kani cream, I moved to the neighbor to try their milk tea. Fruiteamix is a small shop but it looks [...]

Fruiteamix is a small shop but it looks bright and cheerful. I don’t know when they opened but their service was very slow when I went there and there were only a few customers there. (more…)

I don’t like soups nor ramen but I get a craving from time to time. When I’m craving for ramen, I head to Konbini Store in Greenhills, San Juan. Konbini Store is only 20 minutes from my place in Pasig, that is if there is no traffic. Konbini Store is a Japanese grocery. It sells [...]

Konbini Store is a Japanese grocery. It sells candies, chocolates, junk food, instant noodles, ingredients, beverages, ice cream, and more at exorbitant prices. If you want to shop Japanese food, go to Little Tokyo instead. The groceries there like Sakura and Chotto Stop are much much cheaper and has much to offer. Even though Konbini is pricier, folks who live in San Juan shop there because it’s more convenient. The Greenhills residents are rich too so the price probably doesn’t matter much to them. (more…)

Well I’m not sure if it’s the newest but I’m willing to bet the concept is new here. My friend and I decided were looking for desserts after having dinner at B & T. We were driving along Connecticut St. in Greenhills when we saw a nice new building. We were about to enter White Hat but noticed that there were more shops on the 2nd floor so we decided to explore. We were enticed by the bright and colorful interior so we decided to try Cold Layers. (more…)
